My Most Recent Memorable Restaurant Experience
A few weeks ago my husband and I decided it was time to venture out and try a new restaurant. I’m so happy that we did. We came across a Mexican street food restaurant known as Cantina Louie, located in Saint Augustine, Florida and decided to go there for dinner.
It was a Saturday night and the place was packed, yet within 10 minutes we were seated at one of the spacious booths. The restaurant itself has a warm, inviting atmosphere, and as we looked around we both noticed the unique, colorful decor throughout the entire restaurant.
We didn’t wait for more than 30 seconds before our waiter showed up in front of the table to take our drink order and give us the menus. Within a few minutes, he returned with the drinks and we agreed on the chips and guacamole for our appetizer. 5 minutes later, our waiter came back with a plate filled with chips that were still hot and crispy, right out of the fryer, along with a heaping bowl of freshly made guacamole and a side of salsa. It was the best guacamole I have ever tasted, a little chunky with a hint of lime and garlic. They must make everything from scratch in the kitchen.
As for the entrees I tried their Baja salad, topped with juicy grilled chicken strips, corn, black beans, freshly made pico de gallo, rice, pieces of avocado and a delicious cilantro dressing. My husband ordered a Carnitas burrito, an oversized burrito stuffed with so much meat, rice, beans, queso and other ingredients, he couldn’t finish and ended up taking it home for lunch the next day. He also decided to try their Mexican street corn for a side, which is corn on the cob, topped with a queso fresco & mayonnaise mixture.
Everything was so delicious, we even ended up bringing the leftover chips and guacamole dip back home for a snack. Aside from the excellent quality of the food, the prices at this restaurant were very reasonable too. I’m really looking forward to returning to this place for lunch or dinner. I still crave their guacamole appetizer!
